The intensity of life poses many thoughts. That of the human finding meaning. I often have considered the idea that humans make up stories to create a sense of comfort in a world that is challenging for most. We choose a belief system or inherit one without really looking at what was before the emergence of that belief system. We choose emotions in an addictive way, and very often in a way that links us to others in a dependent form.
True meaning in my understanding is only attempted with the decision to develop an inner freedom. In my own experience, I decided to start peeling the layers off of inherited belief systems, or at least what I found that has not served me. I will not lie, this process I really welcome, but it also can be painful.

Most of us come from an environment with an already structured set of beliefs and expectations present, I am sure you are no different in this experience. I relish the opportunity to blow open the blinkered framework and simply ask, what happened before the structures that we have known for centuries were created that led to all of what we experience now?
Such thoughts quiet frankly have to move into areas of the cosmos in some way to attempt to understand. The danger I see is our addiction to story telling or the creation of stories to make a sense of relatability to happen but also to have something external to rely on. I think the bravery that is most interesting is that of throwing the shackles off and exploring what being free inside feels like. Yes, vulnerability to the unknown and being mindful is what is needed here. But, unless we free ourselves, can we truly learn of our potential?
Being free means you are responsible for your own existence. In other words you have to be a responsible being. Without this you are like a balloon dangerously rising too high too fast when let lose unexpectedly. So where am I going with these musings?
This week, I want you to consider this question: what happened? What happened before you knew who you were? What happened before you became identified as an individual, male or female? What happened before you took on belief systems or inherited your families’ lineage? Yes a deep thought, and a deep contemplation, but I have to say in my experience, a fascinating one to take on.
