In the last few days, my thoughts have been turning to the authenticity of truthful and honest relationships, whether it be in business, personal, family, community. Over recent weeks I have observed and witnessed an alarming and sickening amount of dishonest transactions in business circles. In other words, innocent hard-working people getting scammed.
Then, in the last day or so, I read an article written by Mary West, an Epoch Times contributor, and the headline she wrote says ‘The Effect of Touch on Depression, Anxiety, and Pain: New Study’. You can find the article here
At the core level of humanity’s need is a need for connection and understanding. We are a species that does not thrive when isolated, whether it be behind a screen, or desk, or living alone with no one showing concern about our welfare.

I really think that it is time that we rediscover elements of life that we had before technology came along, and bring them back. For example, when we do business, meeting in the physical where possible immediately does away with trust issues. Or replacing it with video calls, where relationships are built over time and then business activities are implemented safely with care and attention.
Then if we look at the high rates of anxiety; in my humble opinion, anxiety, depression and the like can be circumvented and alleviated by an ‘authentic’ and ‘respectful’ connection with each other, that is natural and not overly organized. I sometimes feel that all these ‘organized groups’ that have been created to try and deal with these problems are a tad artificial. We need each other in a natural way. We need to listen, feel the emotions expressed and respectfully respond in a way that is meaningful rather then being flippant.
If you are reading this article, I expect you are of the generation that knew life before technology and you have experienced therefore, the natural way people interacted. Do you miss these elements from that time?

I wonder, if we all moved ourselves purposely away from technology regularly, and reconnected with each other naturally, and the natural world as well, what way would our lives then improve? Do we really need a Study (as quoted earlier) to illustrate why we need each other?
