Not every week holds beautiful memories. Despite the good fortune of sunshine appearing after months of rain, and a small garden showing expansion and growth, memories of this week are not pleasant. The complications of human relationships are to blame.
I am sure those of you who choose to follow this blog written by a simple person living in a countryside location, can understand that when human relationships get fractured, unexpected feelings arise. It takes courage to step back and not react, to contemplate this simple query: why?
This week has been a reminder of a rare occurrence in my life experience and all I can say is, it takes time to heal wounds that sting. Nature outside my window offers ease to a tired mind trying to navigate the complicated nature of ‘complicated’ circumstance. Living where I do I am so grateful as space allows a deep breath to exhale, away from the hustle and bustle of the world at times.

So what wisdom can I find both within myself as well as from the outside? I have to say that music of the classical genre is soothing to my soul as I search for the wisdom I am looking for. While disappointment mixed with grief is rising to the surface in waves, the echelons of piercing sounds from VOCES8 and concertos from harpist Marisa Robles helps to raise the spirit up.
When life is difficult the precious memories of times passed with loved ones comes to the surface, the eyes close and a deep breath escapes the lips. A moment of gratitude lifts up to the heavens and the chin lifts. The mental composure is regained to keep going.
We can all agree that days like this hit everyone of us in life, and hopefully not very often. I do believe that feelings are transient and when these situations happen, it is time to take stock, and when the good times reappear, relish them with cherished emotion that maintains them in the memory for a long time to come.
Personality and character cannot be generalized in my opinion. Yet, there are similarities in general, but we are all unique and have our value in life to bring to others in the best way possible. But it also is our job to keep learning and improving so as we can stop repeating behaviors and recognize what we have misunderstood as a truth which may have led to poor decisions or misplaced perceptions. I think if we all simplify processes within life, our relationships may be healthier overall. Take away the ego, or at least minimize it and WOW! Life takes on a new meaning, and relationships can be repaired or at least understood.
In the past couple of years repeatedly I had said to a loved one that has since passed, “these are the most precious times of my life,” and you know something? How grateful that makes me feel that I had the ego minimized so I could recognize the preciousness of each experience placed in front of me. And this is the same even when relationships get fractured. I don’t like the experience, but the need to search for the wisdom and learning both for myself and the broader landscape of life, I feel is necessary.
I will conclude my meandering thoughts and as I prepare to get new content ready for the reappearance of Sylvia Live soon, I wish you a wonderful week ahead, hopefully in the sunshine as we all enter the summer and enjoy the long days ahead. This week, make sure you take time to cherish moments with those who come across your path and make them feel valued for their presence in your life.
